ACTIVE MEMBERS -Please volunteer for Board positions. ALL POSITIONS ARE OPEN. You will participate in club administrative and financial leadership, learn about community issues and be part of a 14 member Board who have a lot of fun together during the year. Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of the month (there is no meeting in July or December). All positions are 2 year terms.

La Bella Fontana volunteers work 6 to 7 times a year at the fountain to weed, lightly trim hedges, sweep, clean tiles, and do general gardening. They also present "Luminaria Night" in December.
Naples Plaza Median volunteers work 5 - 6 times a year at the medians to deadhead roses, weed the beds, sweep and monitor olive trees and up lighting of the trees.
Naples School Gardeners volunteers work in the landscaped beds at the school, weeding, keeping plants tidy, watering, raking, and caring for the roses 11 times a year.
Second Street Planters are 'adopted' by volunteers who oversee the planters' appearance, water & clean the containers on a monthly basis, adding new plants as needed. Schedules are set by individual volunteers; you can partner with another member.
Beautification Awards selects properties for our Award, given at a general meeting, and submits information and photos to our newsletter and website.
Arbor Day prepares a program for the annual memorial ceremony at Naples School honoring club members and immediate family members who have passed away in the previous year. Volunteers work with Naples School Gardeners on the annual memorial planting.
Excursions selects and arranges visits for members to gardens and horticultural locations several times a year.
Horticulture researches and writes articles with advice and tips for members for publication in our newsletter, on our website, and in other formats.
May Day volunteers plan the annual event with community and garden club publicity, survey decorated properties on May Day, photograph, and recognize participants.
Travel researches and offers extended trips for members.
Veterans Day organizes, publicizes, and stages the annual Nov. 11 event to honor military veterans at La Bella Fontana Park.
Christmas Luncheon plans, publicizes, and presents the traditional December event for our members and guests including coordination with Treasurer.
Spark of Love works with the LBFD program and members to collect quality gifts at the Christmas Luncheon for deserving Long Beach families.
June 2020 Annual Meeting and Luncheon creates and presents June luncheon to celebrate the success of our garden club.
Reservations receives reservations and payment for our 3 luncheon events, organizes seating lists and guest nametags, and staffs the check-in table at each event.
Dine Out selects local restaurants for dining events that return a percentage of proceeds to our club, and publicize events to our members to ensure participation.
Fall Fundraiser plans, publicizes and coordinates this annual event for benefit of our Beautification Fund. Other tasks are preparing invitation and raffle information, reservations, scheduling volunteers and refreshments, and coordinating with Treasurer
Flower Show selects the theme, plans the flower show, Chinese auction and luncheon to benefit our Beautification Fund. Also encourages participation by members, schedules judges and program, and coordinates with President and Treasurer.
Plant Boutique plans, publicizes, encourages member underwriting of the event held during the NIA Pancake Breakfast for the benefit of our Beautification Fund. Solicits donations of plants and gardening aids, designs.
Bunco plans the yearly schedule of parties and coordinates with the Treasurer and Island Poppy Editor.
Bridge creates the yearly schedule, including the annual bridge luncheon in May and coordinates with the Treasurer and Island Poppy Editor.
Hospitality coordinates refreshments for meeting, organizes members to serve as hostesses, and purchases supplies as needed.
Sunshine sends appropriate cards to members, maintains a member birthday list, and submits to Island Poppy Editor.
Newsletter creates an annual publication schedule for the Island Poppy, receives and edits articles and photographs, and publishes up to 9 issues a year.
Newsletter Distribution distributes the Island Poppy newsletter and Roster to volunteer members for local home delivery, and mails to associate members.
Publicity writes and submits information/articles about the club to a variety of local news publications.
Roster compiles the annual Roster in conjunction with Membership, Program and Hospitality chairmen and President. Publication and distribution with the Island Poppy prior to the September meeting.
Webmaster runs club website, ensures functionality and maintains email distribution lists.
